The student publications at Appalachian State University are rich in tradition. Throughout the decades the University has served North Carolina, students at Appalachian have served their fellow students, the faculty and staff of the institution by producing high quality, informative, and entertaining publications. As the institution has grown in complexity with a broader mission, so too has student publications. Today, more students than ever produce the campus newspaper, The Appalachian, its electronic/online version, and the campus literary-arts magazine, The Peel. These publications and any student publication created in the future fall under the guidance of the Lee H McCaskey Center for Student Involvement and Leadership.
